About
Scott Boyer currently works as a bassist, trombonist and educator in the greater Pittsburgh area. He attended Slippery Rock University (BS in Music Education) where he studied with Mr. Bob Matchett, Dr. Jason Kush, and Dr. David Glover. During his time at SRU he had the distinct privilege of performing with: Kurt Elling, Michael Davis, Sean Jones, Dr. Stephen Hawk, Troy Roberts, and Rene Darce.
Professionally, Scott has performed with The Vindys, Saved By the 90's, Wine & Spirit, Santino Tomasetti, TT and The Racers, Paul Joseph, Hoss & The Juggernauts, Rust Valley Revival, and The Balcony Big Band. Playing with these groups has allowed him to perform at music festivals including Winnetka Music Festival and Summerfest. Scott has been lucky enough to share the stage with Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo, The Drive-By Truckers, Ripe, The Clarks, Angela Perley, and Red Wanting Blue.

Scott is currently a music educator at the Laurel Area School District, and was previously at Titusville Area School District. He takes his experiences and love of performing back to the students he teaches. His own group, the SB Band, is a modern jazz group, which uses a large amount of electronics and groove-based compositions to make up their sound. Scott can be heard performing regularly with Razed by Robots, and other acts around the Western PA and Eastern OH areas.​​​
